Jennie, a close friend of mine, gave me the pleasure of creating her, and her fiancée Mike's, wedding flowers for their city centre wedding in the big smoke last summer. They are both graphic designers and so had ideas in order to complement their modern venues.
The newly wed Potts' palette consisted of tons of foliage, classic white and hints of navy and grey. Loose and natural looking, minimal manipulation - my favourite style.
Between us, we agreed on a extra wide and really long foliage garland for the 18ft top table, created with asparagus fern, olive foliage, leather leaf, pistasche and a few varieties of scented eucalyptus. The bridal bouquet containes wispy asparagus fern, strong navy eryngium, gunmetal grey brunia, white spray roses and Norma Jeane roses, white tall veronica, waxflower, white astilbe, white lisianthus and on trend succulents. The four bridesmaids bouquets were similar but slightly smaller. All five bouquets had beautiful grey silk ribbons, from Silk and Purl, to complement the bridesmaids dresses. Buttonholes were made with eryngium, foliage and waxflower to complement the navy suits of the grooms party.
Other table decorations included a simple stem of asparagus fern within a gin bottle as a nod to the Potts favourite tipple, in amongst the couples personally designed place name settings and boozy wedding favours.
All in all, a wonderful informal and relaxed wedding with a classic colour palette within the floral designs. I won't forget the five hour drive there with a car full of flowers anytime soon, it was like sitting in a fridge....!!
We were really proud to be featured in a wedding blog, so grab a brew and check the link below;
"Michelle, what can I say!? I LOVED the flowers you did for my wedding. They were exactly what I was imagining. You were fab throughout the whole process. Being a designer I'm pretty fussy and a perfectionist but you were so patient with me and made fantastic recommendations. Thank you so so much! Xxx" - Jennie
